Could Iowa be Joe Paterno's final loss of his historical career at Penn State and in college football?

At age 81, is Joe Paterno two games away from closing out his long and storied career as head coach of the Penn State Nittany Lions? Penn State has one loss on the season, a 23-24 defeat at Iowa on November 8, 2008.

Penn State (10-1, 6-1 Big Ten) will host Michigan State (9-2, 6-1 Big Ten) in Happy Valley to close out the Big Ten and regular season. Penn State is likely headed to a nice bowl game to close out the 2008 season.

Will 2008 be Joe Paterno's final season as a head coach in college football?

My choice is yes. Hopefully, after surgery in the off season, Mr. Paterno will find a role as a college television studio analyst or guest speaker. He has been a great ambassador for college athletics. He has been head coach at PSU, since 1966.

In preparing this post, recent stories were found saying I may be off track, regarding JoePa's future. But, my thoughts were that this year's game at Kinnick would be JoePa's last game vs. Iowa. My prediction is that Joe Paterno will be coaching his two final games, then will retire at the end of this season. Mr. Paterno's contract expires at the end of the season.
