A Big Game in the Big Ten on Saturday at Kinnick Stadium: Iowa vs. Michigan State

#17 Iowa (5-2, 2-1 Big Ten) is a -6.5 favorite over #7 Michigan State (8-0, 4-0 Big Ten). The Hawkeyes won the last meeting in this series, as well as the last meeting at Kinnick Stadium in this series, a 34-27 2 OT win in 2007.

How much momentum will the return of defensive coordinator Norm Parker have for the Hawkeyes on Saturday? Iowa is coming off a 30-31 heartbreaking loss vs. Wisconsin. Michigan State is coming off a come from behind 35-27 victory @ Northwestern last week. Iowa needs a boost!
This game will be close, if history repeats itself. Kirk Ferentz first Big Ten victory as a Big Ten head coach came at Kinnick Stadium in 2000 over Michigan State. Iowa needs a victory on Saturday, if the Hawkeyes desire to remain in the 2010 Big Ten title race.

Prediction:

#7 Michigan State 34
#17 Iowa 42

  • Not a fan of OOC games against FCS opponents this late in the season. Conferences need to do a better job of scheduling conference game during the season. Of course, this could have been a bye week for some teams. It's Halloween weekend ~ so, keep it safe and enjoy the 2010 College Football season.

    peace
