The FBS is down to two final unbeaten teams: Clemson (11-0) and Iowa (11-0)

Clemson and Iowa are the two remaining unbeaten teams in FBS College Football.

Iowa City, IA -- The #1 Clemson Tigers (11-0, 8-0 ACC Atlantic) and the #3 Iowa Hawkeyes (11-0, 7-0 B1G West), in each of the major polls, are the two sole remaining unbeaten teams in FBS College Football heading into the final weekend of the regular season for each team. Each will take to the road to face rivals, as the Tigers head to Columbia to face South Carolina, while Iowa faces Nebrasaka @ Lincoln.

By the way, Clemson has lost the last three games in Columbia. The game will kickoff on Saturday at 11 a.m. CST on ESPN. The Tigers beat South Carolina 35-17, last season. The Gamecocks fell to 3-8, after a 23-22 loss to The Citadel on Saturday.

Who are the Top 4 right now? There is no secret that Iowa and the Big Ten are not the favorites of ESPN.

ESPN likes the Big 12, with four of the Top 10. Florida almost got knocked off
on Saturday, when they were forced into OT against Florida Atlantic.

Iowa at 11-0 for the first time in program history.

The Big Ten championship game will be determined in the East on Saturday. The West was already determined this past Saturday, when Iowa defeated Purdue 40-20, as the Hawkeyes finished out the season 7-0 at home.

MSU's Tyler O'Connor completed 7-of-12 passes for 89 yards and one touchdown while Barrett went
9-for-16  for 46 yards and one TD. O'Connor picked up 11 of his 25 rushing yards (on eight carries) while
 converting a crucial fourth-and-3 situation on MSU's second touchdown drive. Barrett let the Buckeyes
with 15 carries for 44 yards. Regular QB Connor Cook was injured and couldn't play for MSU.

The Iowa Hawkeyes are 10-0 for the first time in 126 years, after 40-35 win over Minnesota

Iowa City, IA -- The Iowa Hawkeyes are 10-0 for the first time in program history, with a 40-35 win over Minnesota (4-6, 1-5, B1G West). The Hawkeyes first kicked off in college football in 1889, but after one previous attempt, in 2009, the Hawkeyes move to 6-0 in the B1G West and 10-0 overall, for the first time.

After last year's 51-14 debacle in Minneapolis, the Hawkeyes rebounded and
brought home Floyd of Rosedale to bring Kirk Ferentz's record to 11-6 in the
series against the Golden Gophers, since he became head coach in 1999.

On Sunday, the two major polls moved Iowa up to #6 in the nation. The Hawkeyes were ranked #5 in the second College Football Playoff poll and will find on Tuesday night how they stack up in the CFP race. Only Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma State and Iowa remain undefeated in 2015 among Power 5 conference programs. Houston is the only remaining non-Power 5 unbeaten program in 2015.

The first night game ever in November in Kinnick Stadium was a sellout.
The entire weekend was special with men's and women's basketball games
on Friday and Sunday, in between the wrestling and football games at Kinnick
on Saturday. Iowa went 6-0 in all of the events, with the football game the highlight.

The 75 points combined for both teams on Saturday night was the third most in series history, which is now at 109 meetings. The series with the Golden Gophers is the most played series for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Since 1935, when the trophy was introduced, the Hawkeyes are now 37-43-2 against Minnesota. The win over Minnesota capped off an historic day at Kinnick Stadium.

Ahead of Saturday night's game between Iowa-Minnesota in Football; the
Iowa wrestling team made NCAA history with the largest wrestling match
defeating #1 Oklahoma State to kickoff the 2015-16 wrestling season.

"We're certainly really excited to get the victory tonight for obvious reasons. We talked to our guys about staying humble and staying hungry all week long, and really that just gets right to the point of being prepared. Working on their preparation and keeping the right things in focus," said Iowa head football coach Kirk Ferentz.

as a Hawkeye starting signal caller. Beathard ran for 2 TDs, on 50 yards rushing,
then was 18 for 26 for an additional 213 yards passing in the 40-35 win.

"I can't compliment our players and our staff, especially our players, enough for doing that. They just did a great job this week. We expected this to be a tough, hard-fought football game. It was. It was a physical football game, and at the end of the day it was just a great team victory for us. The guys played off each other, complimented each other, and it did a lot of great things out there," Ferentz shared, after the emotional and electric game on Saturday night.

Iowa junior RB #29 LeShun Daniels, Jr. had a career game with 26 carries,
195 yards and three TDs on the ground, including a 51 yard TD to end Iowa's
scoring for the evening. He finished 5 yards short of becoming the third Iowa
running back to run for 200 yards and at least 3 TDs in a game, in 2015.

"So as we move forward right now, that puts us one step closer to doing some good things. Makes us 2-0 in November, which obviously we're thrilled about. And my son-in-law was kind enough to share a little history with me about this series yesterday, and it's interesting. We're almost to the day, 76 years ago was the first time The University of Iowa actually won the trophy for the Rosedale Trophy, and that was 1939, coincidentally a pretty good football team. So it was a great outing all in all. Really proud of our guys," Ferentz discussed, after the game.

Iowa senior RB #33 Jordan Canzeri returned for the first time, after suffering
an ankle injury during the Northwestern game. Iowa's leading rusher on the
season, ran for 31 yards in his return. He will be one of 21 seniors seeking
to play their final game at Kinnick Stadium on Senior Day this Saturday.

"Just want to comment about the environment. The fans were fantastic. Sold out, black-out crowd, and the energy was present from the time we came up pregame. Just an electric atmosphere. To be involved in this program 26 years now, these are the things our players will remember their entire lives. So just want to compliment our fans and thank them. Hope I see all 70-plus thousand of them next Saturday to send these seniors off," Ferentz said.

"We have a great senior class getting ready to play their last game at Kinnick Stadium," Ferentz said. This is the first Iowa team ever to reach 10-0 on a season. The leadership from the seniors has been outstanding, along with the chemistry developed, after Ferentz named junior QB C.J. Beathard the starting signal caller, after the bowl loss in January.

Offense assumed a lead role Saturday as the Hawkeyes won their 10th consecutive game to start a season for the first time in school history. Iowa ran 75 plays for 506 yards with no turnovers. The Hawkeyes have scored more than 30 points in four consecutive Big Ten Conference games for the first time.

Iowa junior QB #16 C.J. Beathard has been a huge reason for Iowa's 10-0
start in 2015. Though he was injured late in the game again, the game
against Minnesota has been the most productive using his feet and arm,
together, since the groin injury against Illinois. Beathard re-injured his hip.

“We have to give Iowa credit,” Minnesota head coach Tracy Claeys said. “They controlled the line of scrimmage in the middle. That was the difference in the game.”

Purdue rfrosh QB #11 David Blough was 26 of 45 for 285 yards, with a touchdown
and interception, as the Boilermakers came up short 21-14 @ Northwestern
on Saturday.  Purdue won the 2012 game @ Iowa, 27-24, for the first win in Iowa City
in 20 years for the Boilermakers. From 1961 to 1980, Purdue won ever game in the series.

The Hawkeyes look for win No. 11 with an 11 a.m. CST start on Saturday, Nov. 21 against Purdue. The Boilermakers are 2-8 overall, 1-5 in the B1G West. The Hawkeyes are 6-0 in the B1G West, seeking to win the division outright. The game will be televised on ESPN 2 on Saturday.

The dean of the Big Ten, in his 26th season as a coach, 17th year as a head coach,
has lead Iowa to the best start in program history, at 10-0 overall. He is 6-0 in the
conference and seeking to finish 8-0 for the second time (2002) in program history.

Ferentz said, after the win over Minnesota, "We want to win it outright. That's our goal. But to win the game next week and clinch a bid, that would be fantastic. So that will be our goal tomorrow. We'll turn our sights on our next opponent. There is nothing easy in the conference. I know that. But we'll worry about that tomorrow. Tonight we'll enjoy this one and hopefully we'll get things ahead."

Purdue junior WR #7 DeAngelo Yancey is one of the playmakers in third year
coach Darrell Hazell's offense. Purdue's lone win came at home, against
Iowa's final Big Ten opponent, Nebraska. The Boilermakers won 55-45 against
the Cornhuskers for their lone B1G win on the season.

Purdue is up next on Saturday. The Boilermakers did win the last time the game was played at Kinnick Stadium, back in 2012. It was the first win by Purdue in Iowa City, in twenty years.

The Iowa fan base played a huge role in Iowa's Saturday night performance.
The crowd was electric all night, with Iowa taking home the trophy.

Iowa City, IA -- The #5 Iowa Hawkeyes (9-0, 5-0 B1G West) are going for history tonight, as they host the Minnesota Golden Gophers (4-5, 1-4 B1G West), in the first night game at Kinnick Stadium, in the month of November. Ahead of tonight's football game, the Iowa wrestling team hits the mat in Kinnick Stadium for the Grapple in Kinnick against Big 12 rival Oklahoma State.

The Floyd of Rosedale traveling trophy is at stake on Saturday night at Kinnick. The bronze pig currently resides in Minneapolis as a result of Minnesota’s 51-14 win a year ago. The teams have battled for Floyd of Rosedale since a bet between the governors of the two states in 1935. Minnesota holds a 43-36-2 advantage with Floyd of Rosedale on the line.

OVER 100,000 EXPECTED ON SATURDAY
The Minnesota at Iowa football game on Saturday night is sold out, with a crowd of 70,585 expected. Earlier on Saturday, the Iowa wrestling program will host Oklahoma State in a dual meet in Kinnick Stadium to start the season. Over 35,000 tickets have been sold in advance of the 11 a.m. wrestling event.

"As a competitor, any time you lose like that it's embarrassing and you have a bitter taste in your mouth," said Iowa senior center Austin Blythe. "This week we understand who the opponent is and what's at stake. Preparing like we have the last nine weeks is big for us and it will help us go out and play well Saturday."

The Hawkeyes have enjoyed nine "team wins" this season; Blythe called last year's debacle in Minnesota a "team loss."

"We have done a better job handling all the things that a football game can throw at you and understand that we have to play as an entire unit to be successful," Blythe said. "It is understanding that it is another opportunity to go out and win a game against a good opponent. This game means something, but we're going to prepare like every other week and try to get that W."

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Iowa head football coach Kirk Ferentz and his staff did a complete evaluation of the program following last season, and one thing that was emphasized was being able to finish games.

As the eighth-ranked and undefeated Hawkeyes (9-0, 5-0) look forward to consecutive home games in Kinnick Stadium the next two weekends, that is a trend they will try to continue in closing out the regular season. Iowa holds an 85-53 fourth-quarter scoring advantage through nine games.

“The fourth quarter is important to every football team, and something we did not do last year was close games out, to finish games,” said Ferentz. “Saturday was representative of what we are hoping to see. We have been tracking the fourth quarter success throughout the season. The guys are doing a good job there, it’s part of the reason we are 9-0. It’s something we hope to not only maintain, but also to build on.”

Iowa held a 21-20 lead following an Indiana field goal with 13:22 to play. That’s when the Hawkeye offense put together back-to-back scoring drives of 75 and 76 yards to build a 35-20 advantage. Junior quarterback C.J. Beathard completed 7-of-11 passes in the final period for 102 yards.

The high power Indiana offense was held under their season average in points
and total offense, in the Hawkeye win in Bloomington on Saturday.

After the Hoosiers scored two touchdowns in the second quarter, Iowa’s defense held the home team to three points in the second half until a late touchdown with 2:24 left. Iowa held Indiana five points and 67 yards under its season average. The Hoosiers were able to rush for 227 yards in the game, but just 88 yards in the final two quarters.

“It doesn’t sound like much, but holding Indiana to 27 points is difficult,” said Ferentz. “Indiana is a well-rounded offensive football team; very explosive, and they have played well offensively against everybody when they have been healthy. We saw it last year as well. They have a different running back that is doing a good job and their quarterback can throw it. They have a number of guys who play well in the passing game. For an up-tempo team, they run the ball in a more traditional way and are tough to defend."

“We were happy to get the road win, our third in the Big Ten,” said Ferentz. “To win a conference game in November is significant and something we can build on. Our defense has played well overall, and against the run, all season long; we’ll try to get back on our feet and do a good job the next three weeks.”

Leading the way for the defense Saturday was sophomore middle linebacker Josey Jewell. In his first year as a starter, and playing a different position from a year ago, Jewell led the Hawkeyes with a career-best 15 tackles. He had 11 solo stops, one tackle for loss, and two pass break-ups.

“Josey has played well all season long, but he was super on Saturday,” said Ferentz. “I’ve said this before, I don’t know how fast he is, but he runs fast when he is running after the ball; he gets there fast and tries to do damage when he gets there, which is what a good linebacker does."

“He does a great job and embraces the leadership aspect of being a middle linebacker. He does a great job with the checks and communication, similar to senior free safety Jordan Lomax in the secondary. I could not be happier with what he has done thus far. You have to remind yourself that he is young, just a second year player," Ferentz added

catches, with 31 of those catches resulting in first downs in 2015.

Iowa hosts Minnesota (4-5, 1-4 B1G West) on Saturday night in its second prime time home game of the season. The football battle for Floyd of Rosedale is one of several events in a busy weekend that will feature a Saturday morning dual wrestling meet in Kinnick Stadium. Prior to the football game at Kinnick, the Iowa wrestling program will host the Oklahoma State Cowboys in an outdoor NCAA wrestling match.

The Gophers played their second game since coach Jerry Kill retired on Oct. 28 because of health issues on Saturday. #2 Ohio State beat Minnesota 28-14, in Columbus. In the closing seconds against Michigan last week, The Gophers interim coach Tracy Claeys decided to go for it instead of taking a tying field goal, and junior QB Mitch Leidner was stopped at the 1 to preserve the Wolverines' 29-26 win.

“I’m sorry to miss the wrestling,” said Ferentz. “I’m not surprised our fans have responded so well. We have the greatest fans in the world, and I know they love their wrestling, too. We have basketball on both sides of the Saturday events, and a great venue Saturday for two events. But our focus will be strictly on the football game. Minnesota did a wonderful job against us last year; we are going to have to up our performance and be ready, they are playing tough. My guess would be that it will go right down to the wire, not unlike the Pitt game. We look forward to that and are excited to being back in Kinnick. I know our fans will respond and hopefully our team can match their enthusiasm.”

The Minnesota ground game is lead by senior RB #35 Roderick Williams.

Following Saturday’s contest against Minnesota (7 p.m., BTN) the Hawkeyes close the home schedule against Purdue (Nov. 21, time to be determined). The final B1G game in November will be on Black Friday in Lincoln, against Nebraska (Nov. 27, time to be determined).

Nebraska (4-6) took down once, unbeaten #7 Michigan State (8-1) in Lincoln on Saturday night with a 39-38 win. The Cornhuskers jump out the Big Ten West cellar, at 2-4, with overcoming the 12 point deficit in the fourth quarter. The Spartans still control their own destiny at 4-1 in the B1G East, with Maryland, @ Ohio State and Penn State left in November.

The Hawkeyes are 9-0 for the second time in program history. For the second time in the Kirk Ferentz era, and the second time, after taking down Indiana, but this time around, it was in Bloomington, Indiana where the Hawkeyes pulled to 9-0 on the season.

#9 (#10/#11 in the polls) Iowa (9-0, 5-0) defeated Indiana (4-5, 0-5), 35-27 Saturday at Memorial Stadium, in Bloomington. The Hawkeyes have won six of the last seven in the Iowa-IU sereis.

"First of all, just really proud of our football team. The way they competed today, it was really a big win for us, certainly, and something we've emphasized to our team is winning in November. Our best teams have done that and if you're going to compete at a championship level, that's really imperative. Guys did a great job competing out there today. I thought they really prepared well this week and certainly gutted it out and got the job done there in the 4th quarter. And I think if you look at the 4th quarter it's a bit representative of our football team. The defense came up with some big plays, the offense drove the ball when we really needed it, special teams factored in, and the team really responded throughout the course of the game. Iowa is 5-0 in the Big Ten for the third time under Kirk Ferentz. Iowa opened 5-0 in the Big Ten in 2009 (5-0) and 2002 (8-0). The next two weeks, Iowa will be back home at Kinnick Stadium to host Minnesota and Purdue.

For the second time in the Kirk Ferentz era, Iowa is 9-0 to kickoff a season.

Iowa has won five consecutive true road games for the first time since 2008-09. The Hawkeyes won a trip to the Orange Bowl in 2009. A 13-0 finish in 2015 may be the Hawkeyes' ticket for a return date in the Orange Bowl, since the 4th seed is slated for Miami this year.

The Hawkeyes keep rolling, while the Hoosiers are seeking their first B1G win of 2015. Next up for IU: vs. Michigan.

Iowa has scored 31 or more points six times this season, including the last three games. The Hawkeyes are averaging 27.5 in Big Ten games on offense and are giving up 12.8 yards on defense, second best in the Big Ten in 2015.

Despite the groin and hip injury, Beathard fought for each yard and scored.

Junior QB C.J. Beathard is 10-0 as Iowa’s starting quarterback, a record that includes a 5-0 mark on the road, a 5-0 mark at home, and a 6-0 mark in the Big Ten. Numbers include 162-of-278 passing for 2,076 yards, 11 touchdowns, and four interceptions, and 247 yards rushing with four rushing touchdowns. He is the first quarterback in school history to win his first nine career starts.

Junior CB Desmond King recorded his eighth interception of the season in the fourth quarter. He leads the nation in the category and ties the Iowa school record for interceptions in a single season, joining Lou King (1981) and Nile Kinnick (1939).

The 1981 season was extremely special in the modern era; the 2015 season is on a journey to reach the first-ever Big Ten Championship Game, if the Hawkeyes can finish it out in November? Iowa has a two-game lead in the Big Ten West, ahead of Wisconsin, who the Hawkeyes beat 10-6 to open the 2015 Big Ten season, in Madison. Last year, the Badgers finished 7-1 to win the Big Ten, but lost the Big Ten opener to Northwestern. This year, they need help by others.

Senior PK Marshall Koehn scored five points today with five PATs. Koehn has 141 career points, 19th all-time. Ferentz chose to go for touchdowns on Saturday, rather than use his placekicker on fourth down for field goals. The Hawkeyes finished with five offensive touchdowns. They were stopped on fourth down, but not enough to change the outcome of the game.

Sophomore RB Akrum Wadley’s 65-yard touchdown run on Iowa’s first possession was a career long. Wadley rushed for 120 yards on 12 carries. He has two 100-yard rushing games this season, three in his career. Wadley was injured in the third quarter and did not return.

Junior RB LeShun Daniels had his first career multi-touchdown game. Daniels scored from four yards in the second quarter, and again from one yard in the fourth quarter. Iowa has had three running backs this season deal with ankle injuries.

The Hawkeyes should have all four running backs back in action, as they head into next Saturday's night game with Minnesota.

Iowa senior WR #4 Tevaun Smith plays an important role in 2015.

Senior WR Tevaun Smith had 4 catches for 55 yards. He moved from 30th to 28th on Iowa’s all-time list for receiving yards (1,262). Smith was a victim of targeting late in the second quarter. He returned in the third quarter, despite the bumps and bruises to his back.

Senior WR Jacob Hillyer set career bests in receptions (4) and receiving yards (53). He has been very strong in the running game blocking this season, but this game, he really shined in the passing game.

Sophomore MLB Josey Jewell had a team-high 15 tackles and 11 solo stops. Both are career-highs. He was a play-maker all over the field and is showing outstanding leadership, with the play calls for the Iowa defense in 2015.

The Iowa offense has taken care of business in the 4th quarter all season long.

Head coach Kirk Ferentz has 124 wins as a member of the Big Ten Conference, eighth all-time. Ferentz has 73 Big Ten wins, eighth all-time. Back in 1982, Iowa's game @ Indiana went down to a final stop at the Iowa 2 yard line to preserve a 24-20 Iowa win. Today, the game had far more on the line, but the Hawkeyes didn't allow it to get too close.

touchdown runs against Iowa on Saturday. He ran 22 times for 174 yards,
2 touchdowns, but was limited in the second half, after an outstanding 1st half.

Indiana won the toss and deferred to the second half. Iowa received the opening kickoff in eight of nine games this season (Wisconsin), and has outscored its opponents 50-16 in the first quarter. In 17 seasons as Iowa’s head coach, Kirk Ferentzand the Hawkeyes received the opening kickoff in 170-of-209 games (103-67). Iowa has started the game on defense in 39-of-209 games under Ferentz (21-18).

Indiana senior QB #7 Nate Sudfeld came up short again in 2015.

"Obviously, we've been competitive all season against the best teams in the nation, but I'm tired of being competitive," Indiana senior QB Nate Sudfeld said. "We're good enough, I know I'm a good enough player to win these games, and I know we have good enough players around us to outplay the teams we're playing against. It's up to us players."
