Kickoff of coach Gene Chizik's second season @ ISU
The Cyclones will benefit from the FBS vs. FCS game being a season opener, as opposed to playing a FCS team in game 2 or 3 (ie: like UNI last year L 13-24).
ISU will open with sophomore Austin Arnaud, Ames native, at QB in the opener. One would expect to see Omaha native, sophomore Phillip Bates, get some time at QB too. These Thursday season openers are becoming popular in Ames at Jack Trice. This should be a good game, but the Cyclones should win this year, vs. the FCS.
